Feb 12, 2019 Neutralizing the Integrity Disadvantage

By Ben Heller

At our annual mountain summit where we celebrated the successes of 2018 and innovated for 2019, I asked the team, "Why does PricePoint exist?"

Price is not the only piece of data in data-driven decision-making.There were lots of answers (many of which were good), but there was one mentioned that I hadn’t heard before and wanted to share the concept that resulted from that conversation.

Think about the word integrity for a moment.  Having integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking.  Because of the complexity of move pricing, it’s not easy for a customer to know if they have been charged fairly.  So if you’re a mover with integrity, and your competitor prices a move artificially low only to find profitability via unnecessary supplementals, weight manipulation, or other methods, integrity can put you at a competitive disadvantage. That’s frustrating.  Even worse, it forces you to lower your standard or risk losing business.

“By shining a light on moves and leveraging metrics effectively, moving partners can focus on what’s important.”

PricePoint created a system where having integrity isn’t a disadvantage.  A platform where pricing, quality, and performance are clear, and data-driven decision-making isn’t limited to price.  By shining a light on moves and leveraging metrics effectively, moving partners can focus on what’s important – delivering top quality moves for their customers around the world.

CEO Ben fell in love with the mobility industry while running Accentureʼs global mobility consulting practice. Focusing on the mobility supply chain, he learned the hard way that move pricing is complicated, unclear, and vulnerable to manipulation. After evaluating all existing alternatives, Ben partnered with Ryan to make data-driven moving decisions possible.
